Grievance: Beaten up for resisting daughter’s sale

She said she had already settled the girl’s marriage with the son of a relative.

BAHAWALPUR: A woman was beaten up by her husband for resisting his attempt to sale their daughter. Sharifaan Bibi, a resident of Gahuspura, on Thursday lodged her complaint with the  Bahawalpur regional police officer. She later told the media that her husband, Ashiq, was an addict and had wanted to sell their daughter so he could pay for drugs. She said she had already settled the girl’s marriage with the son of a relative. She said she had first taken her complaint to the local police but they had refused to take action.
