PML-N Sindh secretary general passes away

Makhdoom Shahnawaz, the secretary general of thePML-N Sindh, passed away at age 44.

Makhdoom Shahnawaz, the secretary general of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Sindh, passed away at age 44, at a private hospital in Karachi on Thursday.


Born in 1967 in Matiari, Hala district, Shahnawaz gained his early education at a government school and graduated from the Government College at Hala. Shahnawaz joined the PML-N Sindh chapter in 1997 and contested the National Assembly elections from Matiari in 2008.

According to his friend, Umeed Ali Rind, Shahnawaz will be remembered for his humanity and friendship. “He had liver problems and had been under treatment for about 20 days,” said Rind. “Shahnawaz always had time for friends and commanded comradeship from all those around him.”

He leaves behind two sons, a daughter and a wife. Funeral prayers will be held at Dargah Noo, Hala, Matiari at 4pm.
