One killed in accident, another commits suicide

Separately, unconscious infant found next to dead mother

LAHORE: There were multiple incidents of suicide, accidents and mysterious deaths in the provincial capital. A 66-year old man died after being hit by a speeding car near the Ravi area.

Police officials said that the victim, identified as Khursheed, was crossing the road when a speeding car hit him on Bund Road near Ravi. As a result, the man died on the spot and the unidentified driver sped away right after the accident.

Police reached the spot, took the dead body into custody and shifted it to a morgue. Relatives of the deceased have been informed.

Meanwhile, a young woman committed suicide. Reportedly, 24-year-old Iqra, a resident of Sanda, consumed poisonous pills for unknown reasons. Police reached the spot and shifted the body to the morgue through an ambulance.

Moreover, the decayed body of a young woman was found at a house in Badami Bagh on Monday. Police officials said the body of 24-year-old Sana was found in a house near Morcha Stop while her 7-month-old child was found unconscious.

Police officials further said that the deceased’s child, Hiba Fatima, was found unconscious and found to be hungry for two days. Police registered a case and are investigating further.

Police officials added that further information would be revealed after the autopsy report.

In another incident, 13 people were injured when a coaster overturned after crashing into a tree at Adda plot on Raiwind Road on Tuesday. Rescue 1122 reached the scene and shifted the injured to the THQ Hospital in Raiwind City.
