Going forward, according to the ministry, from 2025 to 2030, around 60,000 small vehicles will be reaching market annually. By the year 2040, almost 90 per cent of vehicles available in the market will be electric powered.
Further, under long term target, around 500,000 electric vehicles of two, three and four-wheeler category would be given access to the markets in next five years while until 2030, 50 per cent new sales of same category would be given access to markets until 2030 with a rate of 900,000 every year.
Under the suggested scheme, 90% vehicles available in Pakistan would be electric-powered by 2040.
