Musharraf’s party launched in Sindh

KARACHI: All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), the political party formed by former president Pervez Musharraf, launched its Sindh chapter at the Karachi Press Club on Tuesday.

“We have tapped into trade unions, student organisations and political figures who are soon going to join us,” said Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif while addressing a press conference. However, he did not name any of these organisations or people.

Saif was accompanied by Major General (retired) Rashid Qureshi, the former DG Inter-Services Public Relations and spokesperson for Musharraf, as well as a few retired bureaucrats. “We don’t have to work hard to convince people; they are approaching us in large numbers to become members,” claimed Saif.

He added that Musharraf’s popularity was increasing in the West and many heads of state lauded his role and ideology. “I receive letters from Indian journalists who admit that Musharraf had a persona and that he outsmarted the media in the country that was considered an enemy,” said Qureshi.

To a question regarding Musharraf’s alleged involvement in Benazir Bhutto’s assassination, Qureshi said that the present government is not doing anything to probe the case. “Nobody dared take Musharraf’s name and he was not responsible,” he added.

To questions about the Lal Masjid operation and violation of the Constitution, Saif said that this was not the right time and forum to talk about these issues. As for funding, he said they believe that only Allah and the people of the country can help them and that they have not received any foreign funding. When asked about when Musharraf would return to Pakistan, Qureshi said that he could not give the exact dates but that he is likely to return just before the next general elections.

In response to a question regarding how they planned to gather support from the general public when Musharraf’s following is only on Facebook, Saif said they would contact the general public as well to maintain a balance.

Pakistan became more stronger where every person was earning with respect and had the capacity to sustain his family. Musharaf has brought good things and mostly people admit it. He has a bright future in Pakistani Politics and can handle the situation in better way and can put the doomed economy back on track. All things can,t be discussed openly as its impact can derail the process but unfortunately so called intellectuals only view him for few steps and some times I wonder why people do not talk facts? For them things are different and their comments leave strong and adverse print on the minds of Nation. Long Live Pakistan and poor people of Pakistan who are desperately waiting for a leader not the one who are non existent in the time of crises and busy in using Govt Funds for personal gains. (Facts can be verified on ground in all the flood hit areas where food and relief goods are used as a tool to keep people loyal to them.) May Allah bless Musharaf and Help him to face the crises and lead us out of uncertainty.

To me it is only because the nation is divided in sects and bradaries and they have failed to be united as a nation. To me Pervez Musharraf is a leader who has the capacility to take nation to success. The need of the hour is to keep an eye over currupt vested interest enemies of Pakistan, who whenever Pakistan achived a point to jump for accellerated development, tried to destroy the system and take country back. These vested interest enemies then try to loot and have no interest to make this country strongest. Let's give Pervez Musharraf another chance to set things right in this country. Let so called issues and allegations be kept aside and the whole nation be united under APML. Peoples are joining day by day for this noble task. Only on social site Facebook uptil now Pervez Musharraf has about two lac and fifteen thousand literate fans and his supporters are going to creatE miracle to mobilise nation for a truthful revolution in the interest & betterment of our beloved country Pakistan.This support in not in the air, but on the beses of skyhigh performance of Pervez Musharraf's last good governance. SCEPTIC | 13 years ago | Reply I am a great fan of President Musharraf, not overlooking some of his minor mistakes and follies, that he had committed during his presidency. I believe that the ex- COAS can definitely pick up some votes in Urdu Speaking areas of Sindh and Punjab . However I don't want to sound ethnic or narrow minded regarding the Presidents future in national politics ; but the fact of the matter remains that in Pakistan the pattern of voting across regions is heavily influenced by languages and bradari system. Hence it will be a bit difficult for Musharraf and his party to initially win votes all over the nation. Spend some of that money you have like Meg Whitman and Carli Fiorina in the California elections and get yourself elected. Maybe take that sentimental old fool Imran Khan with you and give him the Foreign Minister's post. If you form a coalition BEFORE you contest elections and get yourself a party that is made of people worth voting for, you can sweep the elections. For God's sake, hire a good PR firm, a great ad agency, some excellent speech writers, and create a strategy that WILL win you the election. Do it now. Don't just rely on the jatts, pirs, and vaderas to get you the votes. You can be smart about it, give your party ticket to hardworking, honest and experienced people, and you can raise money to create an election campaign that will blow away every mullah and feudal lord's mind because they cannot THINK! They only know how to beg and bargain; they are corrupt; they are selfish; and they will only end up weakening your image. You've done it once yourself, don't do it again. Mohammed Arif | 13 years ago | Reply On thursday 10.06.2010 first time I saw a representative from APML from a Pakistan Channel's talk show-along with some others from opponents parties (PML(N) and Jamat Islamai) I was pleased to see the represntation of APML by Chaudhry Safdar who spoke and answers the blames on PM. If it will continue I am sure the peoples of Pakistan will soon well aware of the facts which were twisted by our media. Mr. Chaudhry rightly challenged Mr. Farooq and JI Rep to bring the names of peoples killed in Lal Masjid other than 193. It is fact that we did not see till todate any father, mother, brother/sister of any relative of such person on the media, even a picture. Political parties are misgiving the number of 2500 killed in Lal Masjid. It is Totally wrong. Briefly, in the programme the anchor requested the people for referendum by SMS whether Pervez Musharraf could be PM of Pakistan or not. At the end of programme the result was 40% people said yes and 60% against. In a very short period APML if gains 40%, i think is is a marvelous achievement and I am sure that the day is not far when mr. Musharraf will be another ZA Bhutto. MAY ALLAH BRING THAT DAY SOON.

I am studying Law and I really did research with the best of my knowledge. I found that our Economy was going up and up when you were president. We had arround 3000 to 4000 extra electricity. We were having very good business. We were changing new Cell phones, new cars, new homes on daily basis. but after you every thing is giong down. One should look into the greater issues such as, which leader can built PAKISTAN'S & its PEOPLE'S image as peace loving nation among the international community. As far as internal issues are concerned, for those who have raised the electricity problem they can go to PM's F/B and find the verifiable statistics. As far as Lal Masjid is concerned I feel that PM did a half hearted job. If he had done whole heartedly no body would have the courage to do suicide bombing in punjab as it is being done now. He should have finished the FITNA once for all. If at all Lal Masjid was really an islamic institute than all other masjids or Imam masjid are not doing there job. The only thing is that majority of people are afraid of critising Lal Masjids management due to political reasons specially our politician. The Akbar Bugti was admittedly a muderer himself. He had not even left his own relative or tribes alone. My dear friends if we as a nation keep acting as hipocrats the end result of our nation will be no better then the present one even it will become more worse then the present. In the end I would like to say PM is not angel or a saint he is a just like us and belong to same culture & country, the only differance among other politicain & him is that during his tenure over all economical, political & law & order situation was far better then present or before him. How many of us has not done any mistakes or committed crime (whether a financial or otherwise )or do not speak truth.
