He especially prayed for the martyrs who rendered their lives in the war against terrorism. Afterwards, he went to Yadgaar-e-Shuhda at Police Lines and laid a floral wreath.
He especially prayed for the departed souls and expressed solidarity with the heirs of the martyrs. The CM said that we have to remember the family members of the martyrs on the auspicious occasion of Eidul Fitr. He prayed for the development of the country and said that national interest should be given preference over personal differences.
Later on the CM visited SOS village at Ferozepur Road on the first day of Eid and distributed gifts among the children. He congratulated the children and inspected the facilities being provided to them. He said that children living in SOS village deserve special attention and taking care of them is our collective responsibility. The chief minister said that he has especially come to SOS village to share the joys of Eid with the children.
He added that the character building of destitute children is a national obligation and all should participate enthusiastically in this respect. He further said that Eid teaches people to include destitute and needy children in all joys. He congratulated the administration and staff for this noble cause as it would have not been possible without their sheer determination and strong dedication.
After leaving SOS village, the CM visited the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau and extended Eid greetings to the children living there.
The Chief Minister also visited the boys’ hostel and spent some time with the children. He gave away prizes to the children, cut an Eid cake and inaugurated and inspected the activity room at the Child Protection School. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that he felt very happy to spend time with the children.
