Eidul Fitr will fall on Wednesday (tomorrow) as Shawwal moon has been sighted, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced on Tuesday.
The decision was announced by Mufti Muneebur Rehman, who chaired the moon sighting meeting of the committee in Karachi, Express News reported.
He said the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee received multiple testimonies of moon sighting from the across the country including Faislabad, Kashmore, Rahim Yar Khan, Pasni and Quetta.
Eidul Fitr marks the culmination of the holy month of Ramazan, during which Muslims all over the world observe 29 to 30 days of fasting.

K-P officially celebrates Eid today
Last month, the federal government had announced that according to predictions of the meteorological department, the Shawwal crescent will be sighted on June 4 and Eid will be celebrated the following day.
On the other hand, the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government is celebrating Eid today (Tuesday).
Provincial Information Minister Shaukat Yousufzai said that the chief minister took the decision in light of several moon sighting testimonies received from across the province.
Four-day Eidul Fitr holiday announced
The decision was taken after the unofficial moon sighting committee of Masjid Qasim Ali Khan announced the end of the holy month of Ramazan following the lunar testimonies.
Mufti Shahab Uddin Popalzai, the mosque cleric, said that 25 witnesses had submitted testimonies that confirmed that the Shawwal moon was sighted.
