Pakistan lived up to their 'unpredictable' billing by beating world number one England in the World Cup match on Monday, just three days after losing to world number eight West Indies in their first game of the tournament.

An aggressive Pakistan team turned up at Trent Bridge to deservedly beat pre-tournament favourites England by 14 runs.

It was in marked contrast to Pakistan's seven-wicket humiliation by the West Indies at the same venue on Friday.

Many took to Twitter to share their delight, including Sania Mirza, Shaniera Akram and Jemima Goldsmith. The women shared their two cents on yesterday's nail-biting match.

Sania Mirza:

India's top tennis player and Shoaib Malik's better half, Sania expressed her excitement for the tournament after Pakistan's win last night.

"Congratulations to Team Pakistan on bouncing back the way they did and being as unpredictable like it always is!" she shared on Twitter. "Cricket World Cup got more interesting than it already was."

Sania further added, "How can you not love sport?! Amazing and most unpredictable. There are no ‘favourites’. You are only as good or as bad depending on how you play on that given day. Period! The cricket world cup has come alive!"

Shaniera Akram:

"Come on Pakistan. Bring it home!" a thrilled Shaniera tweeted.

"Pakistan Zindabad!" she wrote in another.

Jemima Goldsmith:

"England vs Pakistan match today. Cricket World Cup Pleased to see The Tebbit Test described here as 'an outdated relic'," she shared on Twitter.

"'British culture is and always has been a blend of influences. That’s something to be celebrated.' Go England! Pakistan zindabad!"

Pakistan posted their second highest World Cup total of 348 for eight, just one short of their score against Zimbabwe at Jamaica in the 2007 edition.
