Adopting Technology: PTCL upgrading telephone exchanges

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has said that it is upgrading its telephone exchanges from Time Division Multiplexing-based technology to latest Next Generation Network technology for providing better and improved services. According to a press release, PTCL will start migration series from the Korangi Exchange Area from July 3 to 13 to streamline services and adopt state-of-the-art technology. PTCL said there would be no change in existing telephone numbers after the migration, but there will be minor change of procedure for activation and de-activation of code barring service and other value-added services.
