Telecom industry: Govt determined to promote IT

ISLAMABAD: The government is determined to cooperate with all networking companies to help them extend their networks and will take all necessary measures to promote Information Technology (IT) in the country. During a meeting with Secretary for Information Technology and Telecom Saeed Ahmad Khan, a delegation headed by CEO Telenor Group Jon Fredrik Baksaas exchanged views on the development of the telecom sector in Pakistan. Khan said that the government was focused on ensuring transparency in foreign investments. He also said that guidance and suggestions regarding 3G networking were welcome from the telecom industry.
