Kidnappings: 5 women abducted in 24 hours

Locals in the area have been staging protests against the police for not curbing the rising crime in the district.

FAISALABAD: Five women were abducted from different parts of Faisalabad in the last 24 hours. According to the police officials, Imran abducted an 18-year-old girl Shazia from Chak No246-RB, whereas Kamran and his accomplices kidnapped Shagufta from Chak No675-GB.  In another incident, Vikram Masih abducted Kanwal Saleem from Chak No126-GB and Atif and his friends kidnapped Rukhsana from Sammundri.

On the same day, Shakeel abducted a married woman, Khadija, wife of Anwar from Chak No98-RB. The police have registered separate cases and started an investigation for the safe recovery of the victims. Locals in the area have regularly been staging protests against the police for not curbing the rising crime in the district. Two days ago over a large crowd gathered in front of Civil Lines Police to protest the police’s inefficiency in recovering kidnapping victims.
