PESCO cracks down on violators

PESHAWAR: The Dera Ismail Khan Circle of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) raided different areas and arrested seven people who were pilfering power in the PESCO City subdivision area.

These pilferers were booked at the relevant police stations. In other activities, the task force nabbed eight people using illegal power hooks (kundas) and recovered Rs0.25 million from them.

In the Ghoriwala subdivision, 23 new connections were provided while 19 illegal power hooks were removed. The task force personnel recovered Rs1,000 from defaulters.

Further, several 11-kilovolt feeders were combed in the Swat Circle and cables were fixed at several points.

A PESCO spokesperson said that the drive against use of illegal electricity connections will continue and warned power pilferers of strict action.
