From Sanju to Mary Kom, Bollywood biopics have often hit gold at the box office. However, not many film-makers delve into the genre. Now, a project on the life of yesteryear legend Kishore Kumar is reportedly in the pipeline, reported Pinkvilla.

According to the publication, singer Adnan Sami has been approached to play the late actor, singer and composer.

A source told the leading daily that Sami is a perfect fit for the role as he has tried his hand at all three fields too. The Lift Karadey crooner will allegedly lend this voice to recreate some of Kumar’s classics.

Details about the team behind the venture are being kept under wraps. However, industry insiders claim that Sami’s role in the film will be announced soon.

Apparently, Sami was considered for the part after his renditions of some of Kumar’s songs made the headlines on a show. When his video went viral, the makers’ immediately contacted Sami. There has been no official statement from Sami on this development.

It was previously reported that Sami is essaying an Afghan musician in an upcoming romantic musical, but the project still seems to be in pre-production. One of his earlier acting stints was in Syed Noor’s Sargam, in which he starred alongside his former wife Zeba Bakhtiar.
