LAHORE: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is not afraid of the opposition’s agitation.

“It does not matter whether the opposition believes it or not, but Imran Khan is the Prime Minister of Pakistan. The people have elected him for five years.

Sarwar made these remarks while addressing a news conference on Tuesday. The Punjab governor said the opposition is not united now and nor will it ever be. “It is evident from the fact that all opposition parties are claiming to record their agitation separately. They have no joint strategy so far,” Sarwar said.

He said the Pakistani nation has given its mandate to the PTI and the government will complete its constitutional term of five years. “If the PTI comes up to the expectations of people by implementing its manifesto, you can be certain that the next government will be formed by us” he maintained.

Speaking about arrangements for the 550th birth Celebrations of Baba Gurunanak Gee, the Punjab governor highlighted that about 70% work on the Kartarpur Corridor plan had been completed. A 1,493-acre piece of land has been acquired for the Gurdwara Kartarpur Complex.
