MASTUNG: The PPMA, APPMA, health workers and volunteers have expressed serious concern over the non-payment of dues for the past 12 rounds of the polio campaign, saying that the paramedical staff, health workers and volunteers have been deprived of their rights despite the fact that they endangered their lives for low compensation to make the polio campaign successful.

They also complained that the polio campaign was overseen by many officers, monitors and WHO monitors who punished even minor mistakes by the health workers with not only show cause notices but the deduction of half or even their entire salaries.

They also lamented that, even though salaries had not been paid for the past 12 rounds, no one seemed to care about the situation, adding that, except for a few districts, no salaries had been paid for the last one year.

They further said that the Mastung deputy commissioner and other officials had been informed in writing about the situation and that the polio campaign workers had jointly decided to boycott the next polio campaign.
