“9,513 patients of malaria tested positive under the Provincial Malaria Control Program, while 1,062 out of 1,133 dengue patients returned home after taking quality treatment under Balochistan CM’s initiative,” said a report issued by the Balochistan health department. It added that thousands of patients were provided free of cost medicines under the same programme.
As part of the initiative to control the spread of malaria, the provincial health department screened 220,609 patients across the province. Of those, 9,513 patients tested positive,” the report added.
Following the increase in the number of dengue patients in Balochistan, particularly in Makran division, CM Jam Kamal directed the health department to take action, who along with the World Health Organisation teams were busy in providing assistance and treatment to patients, the report added.
