Rain is expected to lash numerous cities in upper Punjab following heavy downpours in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Muree and Muzaffarabad on Tuesday.

According to weather reports, Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Bahawalpur and other adjoining areas are expected to receive 30-40 millimetres of rain.

Punjab will also experience continuous cloud cover and a much welcome decrease in temperature.

Analysts said that the rains are a result of Cyclone Phet moving towards the Indian region of Rajasthan.
