Sham, Froggy and Ducky: who is who and why do they matter

Here's a detailed look at how these YouTubers became from nobodies to being mobbed by fans at a mall

Entertainment Desk May 08, 2019

All hell broke lose when a video of YouTuber Sham Idrees fighting his way out of a mob during a meet and greet session at Karachi's Ocean Mall went viral.

His wife, Queen Froggy was reportedly punched during the attack and the couple blamed another YouTuber, Ducky Bhai (Saad-ur-Rehman) and his fans for the ambush. Ducky condemned the attack, saying he doesn't subscribe to such behaviour and it shouldn't be tolerated against anyone.

For those who are as shocked and surprised at the popularity of these YouTubers and their rivalry, here's  a low down on the social media sensations and their arch rivalry.

Who's who:

Sham Idrees is a Canadian Pakistani who rose to fame after he began producing YouTube content almost three years ago. His initial videos featured Zaid Ali T (another Pakistani-Canadian YouTuber) performing comedy sketches primarily targeted at the desis living abroad. Some people claim Zaid had a huge role to play in Sham's fame and humongous following on social media.

Sham's videos also featured Queen Froggy. The two started collaborating and became internet sensations. Together they either  released sketches or vlogs and were often called out for their eagerness to make people laugh.

In comes Ducky Bhai. A Pakistani YouTuber who came to limelight after he put up a video roasting Sham and Froggy. But it wasn't all that personal. Roasting is Ducky's area of expertise. This particular video, however, garnered over 4 million views making his following cross a million subscribers on YouTube.

The feud begins:

In May last year, Ducky uploaded a video on his YouTube channel, titled, 'Sham Idrees and Queen Froggy are fraud.' In this video he called out the pair for their 'awful' content and fake stunts.

This obviously didn't sit well with Sham.

Few days later, Sham uploaded a video calling Pakistani content creators, Tiny YouTubers. This prompted responses from social media stars such as Mooro, UKhano, Karachi Vynz and others.

Sham's visit to Pakistan and offer to collaborate with Ducky:

But that wasn't the end of it. Sham and Froggy are currently in Pakistan to meet their fans.

During this time, Sham reached out to Ducky for a collaboration but the latter refused. Now Ducky claims Sham threatened his family after he refused to meet him.

Last week Ducky bhai uploaded a seven-minute-video in which he shared a call recording from a government official telling him that his father is involved in cyber crime. He alleged the call was staged by Sham.

The Meet and Greet:

Before Karachi, the couple reached Lahore to meet their fans. Much to their surprise, attendees of the event chanted Ducky's name as Sham looked around and later joined in.

However, things went south, when Sham and Froggy came for a meet and greet in Karachi.

“I’m sorry to all the fans, especially the kids who were pushed around and got hurt at the meet and greet. An individual attacked my wife and this is heartbreaking,” Sham wrote on Twitter. “Hurting women and children is what we’ve come down to?"

Following the incident, some YouTubers have come forward claiming that the attack was staged by the couple.

It isn't so easy to rule out any theory given what matters the most in this whole confusion are the numbers - which are obviously increasing.
