KARACHI:
Sindh High Court sought a reply from the petroleum ministry and other relevant authorities on Tuesday over the recent increase in the price of petroleum products. SHC hearing a plea against the recent hike in the price of petroleum products, asked the federal government, petroleum ministry and others to file their replies over the issue at the next hearing on May 16. On May 3, a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) had approved an increase in the prices of petroleum products by as much as Rs9 per litre for the month of May. The price of petrol now stands at Rs108 per litre. The meeting also approved the increase in diesel price by Rs4.89 per litre, light diesel by Rs6.4 and kerosene oil by Rs7.46.
