PU VC promotes 1,800 employees

LAHORE: As many as 1,800 employees ranging from grade 1 to 15 have been promoted to the next grade by Punjab University Vice Chancellor Dr Niaz Ahmad Akhtar. The order distribution ceremony was held at Faisal Auditorium on Friday. Dr Akhtar said it was the first time in PU’s history that such a large number of employees have been promoted. He said that he was very happy to see happiness in the eyes of employees. He added the promotion would be implemented since 2017 onward and the promoted employees would get arrears too. The VC announced that the employees who have not got promotion in the last 25 years would get up to four promotions. He also announced overtime for security guards who perform duties 6 days a week or other employees who work for more than 40 hours a week. The vice chancellor advised the employees to work with honesty, dedication, hard work and deal the students and public with high moral values. He urged the employees to work as per law and don’t listen to anybody who ask them to work against the law. Lastly, he announced that the PU administration also constituted a committee for the elections of employees.
