FAISALABAD: Punjab Agriculture Minister Malik Nauman Ahmed Langrial stated that the Punjab government will soon launch a project under which modern agricultural machinery will be manufactured locally and sold to farmers on subsidised rates.

“The government is taking a keen interest in promoting the agriculture sector under the leadership of the chief minister,”
he said.

He expressed these views while speaking at a seminar at Ayub Agricultural Research Institute on Monday. “We cannot hope to compete with the rest of the world without adopting modern agricultural methods,” he expressed.

He explained that farmers can enhance their per acre yield by using the latest technology, certified seeds and proper fertilisation methods.

He added that sugarcane farmers should not worry about paying their dues to sugar mills as the government is taking measures in this regard.
