Fatima Ali the brilliant Pakistani who became the Top World Chef- and lost her battle to cancer earlier this year daughter of Ashtar Ali just won James Beard Award for her personal short essay published last year in Bon Appetite magazine.

Ali won the award for her essay 'I’m a Chef with Terminal Cancer. This Is What I’m Doing with the Time I Have Left' penned in October 2018 for Bon Appetite magazine.
The awards gala will be held on May 6.
The 29-year-old, who appeared on US TV show Top Chef, died after being diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare type of cancer that affects bone and soft tissue.

She had undergone aggressive cancer treatment in the US and was declared cancer-free. However, her health later deteriorated.
