From rags to stitches: This 70-year-old entrepreneur is an inspiration to every Pakistani

This event is a yearly extravaganza that inspires, educates, and empowers individuals who want to eventually become entrepreneurs. More than 60 ideas were pitched on the first night of the event followed by a networking and lobbying session.

“The best part about Startup Weekend is that participants themselves select the top ideas through an open voting process, and begin their 3-day journey full of excitement and the pressure of business development, prototyping, and market validation,” said Jehan Ara, President P@SHA and Founder of The Nest I/O.

‘Pakistan’s landscape ideal for entrepreneurial initiatives’

The 54-hour-long event gathered entrepreneurs under one roof giving a platform where future entrepreneurs engage with mentors, investors and sponsor.

“The quality of pitches keeps getting better each time we host Startup Weekend. We had a very difficult time shortlisting the winners, which is a sign of how good all these ideas were,” added Jehan Ara.

The winners will go through to the final round of pitches in the incubation at The Nest I/O.
