British superstar Adele's multi-million pound fortune might take a huge hit after her divorce from Simon Konecki is finalised, reported People magazine.

Reports provide that the two did not sign a prenup when they took the plunge back in 2011. If they choose to file for divorce in the state of California, where they own property and Simon’s business is based, he may be entitled to as much as half of the singer’s earnings.

“What is made during the marriage is likely to be split on an equal basis,” Sandra Davis, a divorce attorney who represented Diana, Princess of Wales among other notables, told the UK Times. “It doesn’t matter who did what,or who contributed what.”

However, Suzanne Kingston, a specialist in family law, says that it’s unlikely to be a 50-50 split. “Adele may be able to claim that her talent is effectively genius, which means her husband would be entitled to significantly less.”

In May 2018, Adele was listed on the Sunday Times annual Rich List, topping the Under 30 ranking with £140 million to her name. This comes after her 121-date world tour that stretched through 2016 and 2017. According to NME, the Hello singer personally pocketed £42 million from the global tour.

She also pulled in over £9 million in 2017 from sales of her most recent album, 2015’s 25, which has sold more than 22 million copies to date.

On top of her liquid assets, Adele, 30, boasts a stunning variety of homes in her vast property portfolio. In addition to her West London apartment, reportedly valued between £1.5 million and £3 million, she also possesses two adjacent townhouses in the upscale London neighborhood of Kensington, which she purchased (one in 2012, the other in 2014) for a reported £11 million collectively.

However, rumour has it that the Skyfall crooner has been slightly downsizing lately. Her humongous eight-bedroom Tudor country estate in West Sussex was put on the market for a reported £7.25 million last year. In 2016, she sold her beachfront pad in Brighton for £2,850,000, netting her an £850,000 profit. According to the Sun, public property records reveal that she sold a mansion in East Sussex this past February for £2.9 million.

Adele also has holdings in the US, including a gated Beverly Hills mansion reportedly valued between £7.3 million and £10 million. In late January, several months before the couple announced their split, PEOPLE can confirm that she transferred a three-bedroom home in LA suburb — reportedly valued at £500,000 — over to Simon.

It remains to be seen how the Someone Like You hit maker will share her property with Simon. “I don’t come from money,” Adele told Vanity Fair in 2016. “It’s not that important a part of my life.”
