Staying on topic, just a few days later model Zara Peerzada spoke on the societal pressures on women to get married. She had admitted to all the anxiety the rishta process has caused her. “Stop making women feel like they are underachieved or doomed because they are not married. Stop making women feel like they are falling behind or missing out. Stop making women feel like this is something they need to be happy about.”

Now, PR mogul Frieha Altaf has shown her support to both ladies in her latest tweets. "Marriage and happiness are not a given! I have been single for 20 years and these two decades have been my happiest," she wrote in reference to Mehwish's statement. "Stop thinking women are unhappy or bechaari if they are unwed. What's wrong with being married to your job? Being happy is what matters."

Following up on Zara's comments, Frieha stated, "It is extremely demeaning for a woman to be paraded like an animal during the rishta process. She is checked out head to toe, scrutinised and asked to serve the 'to be' in-laws. Imagine a role reversal: Where a man is paraded and asked to serve!"

Majority of the users agreed with the former model's comments and took to the comments section to show their support.
