FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Hub of Global Shaper Community (GSC), under the aegis of World Economy Forum (WEF) has been created to help young local entrepreneurs play their due role in economic development of Faisalabad and the rest of the country, said GSC Vice Curator Muhammad Amin Haider.

During a meeting with the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) President Syed Zia Alumdar Hussain, he discussed various ways to enable young entrepreneurs to play their part in future economic development of Faisalabad.

The FCCI president pointed out that textile was the main economic strength of the city, however, other segments were also growing at a rapid pace.

He was of the view that despite its massive contribution to the national economy, Faisalabad remained deprived of its due part in the economic policy making at local, national, regional and global levels.

“Faisalabad possesses young dynamic entrepreneurs in huge numbers who can face the emerging challenges and explore new avenues of development in the years to come,” he voiced hope.

He welcomed the offer to encourage young entrepreneurs, up to the age of 30, to become a part of Faisalabad Hub of Global Shapers Community (GSC) reasoning that it would harness their professional skills and persuade them to contribute in policy making at different stages.

Citing the agenda, Haider reiterated that GSC was a part of Geneva based World Economic Forum.

He detailed that its objective was to encourage young entrepreneurs to actively participate in the economic activities at regional and global level adding that GSC had 8,000 members while it was working in 391 cities of 157 countries.
