Zoo welcomes ‘Plintoff’

ISLAMABAD: A zebra gave birth to a foal in the Margharzar zoo in the federal capital on Tuesday. Zoo staff named the calf as ‘Plintoff’. Zoo Veterinarian Dr Bilal Ahmed said that the foal was healthy and fit and that after a thorough examination, it was included in zebra enclosure and can be viewed by the public. Zoo Director Rana Tahir said that the newborn foal weighed 18 kilogrammes and had become a source of attraction, particularly for small children visiting the zoo. He added there were a total of eight zebras in the zoo, of which three have been transferred to an enclosure in Sector F-8.
