An FIR has been registered against 700 unidentified men on charges of torture and snatching weapons from police officials.

An FIR has been registered against 700 unidentified men on charges of torture and snatching weapons from police officials during by-polls.

The FIR was registered on Monday, by SHO Pirwala at Saddar Police Station in Jalalpur Pirwala on charges of protesting, torturing and snatching weapons from policemen, under sections 16, 353, 393, 100, 148 and 149.

On June 5, the day of by-polls in Jalalpur Pirwala, PML-N workers staged a protest against the arrest of Bilal Lang, who is believed to be a member of a banned organisation and body guard of Naghma Mushtaq Lang. Police had arrested him on charges of dacotiy and other criminal activities. The protesters burnt tyres and surrounded the office of Ahmed Mujtaba Gilani. The protestors also snatched weapons from policemen and tortured them when they arrived.
