Balochistan governor makes pitch to Australian investors

Yasinzai urges them to benefit from improving situation of peace

QUETTA: Balochistan Governor Amanullah Khan Yasinzai on Tuesday said there are a lot of opportunities available for foreign investors in Balochistan as the province has rich mineral resources, unique geographical location and long coastal strip.

He expressed these views while talking to Australian High Commissioner Margaret Adamson during a meeting at the Governor House, said a press release issued here.

Governor Yasinzai said situation of peace has improved in the province and foreign investors should grab the available opportunities of beneficial investment in Balochistan.

They also discussed the overall situation of the region, ongoing development projects in the province, enhancing mutual interests of both the countries, situation of peace and economy during the meeting. Yasinzai and Adamson also agreed to strengthen bilateral relations.

Earlier on Tuesday, the governor Balochistan said that qualified students of the Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University (SBKWU) are our bright future and they should come ahead to utilise their abilities for prosperity and development of the country and province.

He expressed these views while addressing at ceremony of 10th convocation of SBKWU in which gold medals and certificates were awarded to 700 qualified students.

Provincial ministers, Vice Chancellor of SBKWU Professor Dr Rukhsana Jabeen, faculty members, parents and a large number of students were present on the occasion.

Governor Yasinzai said it is a positive sign that the number of students has exceeded to up to 10,000 girl students in the university who would contribute towards building a bright future for the province after completion of their education.

He added that modern education is the need of the hour and without knowledge it is impossible to progress.

“Students should focus more on their studies including search, technical, economic and other subjects for improving their abilities to excel in various fields,” said the governor, adding the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a mega project for the country which would provide a lot of job opportunities in different sectors.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the governor distributed gold medals and certificates among qualified students of SBKWU.

Earlier, Vice Chancellor of SBKWU Dr Rukhsana Jabeen explained the facilities available at the varsity for students and also thanked the governor Balochistan for taking keen interest for enhancing quality of higher education in province.
