Accountability court issues summons to all nine suspects

ISLAMABAD: An accountability court on Thursday fixed April 19 for hearing of the first reference in the fake accounts case.

The interim reference was filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the Islamabad accountability court against nine suspects, including former administrator Muhammad Hussain Javed and Yunus Qadwai.

After scrutiny, the registrar office had sent the reference to the accountability court.

Rawalpindi NAB on Wednesday had filed a reference against fake accounts case at the accountability court.

As per the reference, the suspects have been allegedly involved in misusing of powers and illegal allotment of amenity plots which caused a heavy loss to the national exchequer.

The suspects include former administrator Karachi Muhammad Hussain Syed, former KMC commissioner Matanat Ali Khan, Samiuddin Siddiqui, Najamuzzaman, Syed Khalid Hashmi, Syed Jameel Ahmed, Abdul Rasheed, Abdul Ghani and Younus Kudwawi.

The court has issued summons for all suspects.

The suspects have allegedly caused heavy loss to the national treasure by illegally allotting amenity plots reserved for library and temples, the reference indicates, adding that solid evidence was present against the suspects.

The anti-graft body urged the trial of the suspects as per NAB ordinance, the reference states. The registrar office sent the reference to the accountability court.
