LONDON: After Mohammed Amir breached his cricket ban by playing for a Surrey club, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has sent a warning letter to all clubs informing them that Amir, former Pakistan captain Salman Butt and Mohammed Asif should not be considered for selection in league cricket. The ECB document, entitled, ‘Compliance with Anti-Corruption Sanctions’ states: “Pakistani nationals Mohammed Amir, Mohammed Asif and Salman Butt during their period of ‘ineligibility’ are prohibited from playing, coaching or otherwise participating or being involved in any capacity in any cricket match or any other kind of function or activity (other than anti-corruption education or rehabilitation programmes).”
