Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi said on Saturday that Sindh Rangers have played a key role in establishing peace in Karachi and no one can disrupt it again, Radio Pakistan reported.

Addressing the 26th passing out parade of the Sindh Rangers Shehryar said: "Rangers have played a key role in restoring peace in the metropolis and the rest of Sindh."

Praising the contribution of the Rangers, the minister added that the contribution by the security force has also been very commendable during recent international events, including Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches in the port city.

Elaborating further, he said Rangers have conducted around 16,000 security operations in the past five years and arrested at least 12,000 terrorists and criminals.

Shehryar said that the state cannot be blackmailed on any pretext nor the government will make any compromise on the Constitution.

The minister of state also warned that miscreants and anti-state elements will have to abandon their nefarious practices.

"Continuous efforts and sacrifices of our law enforcement agencies for peace have brought us to the point where the world now considers and values our stance."

A total of 981 cadets passed out in the parade.
