MULTAN: The city's big floral clock installed at Qasim Fort gate is waiting for repair for the last three years.

The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) had installed the clock in collaboration with a private company in 2014. However, the clock stopped working due to some technical fault only after a few months of its installation.

The PHA spent hugs funds for repair of the clock, but the fault could not be rectified. Sources said some important parts of the clock had also been stolen meanwhile.

PHA Spokesman Jalaluddin APP on Friday said the department had tried time and again to get the clock repaired. He admitted that some parts of the clock had been stolen and a case had been registered with the police concerned for recovery of the machinery.

He said that the PHA had decided to outsource the clock in 2018, and tender had been floated, but the plan was postponed due to transfer of the then Director General PHA Sahibzadi Waseema Omar.
