ISLAMABAD: The IGP of the federal capital has been served notice after police allegedly raided the house of a senior Supreme Court lawyer.
The notice was issued on the directives of an Islamabad High Court (IHC) bench, comprising Chief Justice Athar Minallah, who heard a plea filed by advocate Tariq Asad. On Friday, Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) President Raja Inam Minhas appeared before the court to represent Asad.
Minhas contended that Asad’s application against the police raid on his house was not being entertained by the police. Moreover, applications to the Interior Ministry secretary and the Islamabad chief commissioner seem to have been ignored.
At this, the court issued notices to the Islamabad Inspector General of Police to submit a written report on the matter within a week.
The case was then adjourned for a week.
