FIR registered against PPP leader for injuring NAB employee

KARACHI: A case has been registered against Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and former MPA, Jam Khan Shoro, at Artillery Maidan Police Station under sections of interference in government matters and for resisting and injuring an employee of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

The case was filed on behalf of NAB Additional Director Amir Butt. According to the FIR, NAB officials had gone to arrest the former municipality minister on March 13 outside Sindh Assembly on Aiwan-e-Saddar Road. They blocked the path of his car and showed their ID cards. Shoro resisted their attempts to avoid arrest and hit a NAB official, Shabbir, by his car. When the official got injured, Shoro directed his driver to take the unblocked path and make an escape, in which he was successful.

Bail extended

Meanwhile, the Sindh High Court (SHC) has extended Shoro's interim bail till March 21 in the case pertaining to illegal allotment of government plots in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. The court also confirmed the bails of six and extended the bails of seven others accused in the case.
