LAYYAH: A man stabbed his cousin to death over a land dispute in Layyah on Friday.

An official of Chobara police station said that 28-year-old Asif, a resident of Chowk Azam, had a dispute over the possession of a piece of land with his cousin Muhammad Ansar.

He added on the day of the incident, Asif went to meet Ansar at his house. He pointed out that both men had a heated debate over the matter.

However, when the arguments escalated, accused Ansar, his father Bashir Ahmed and brother allegedly attacked the victim with knives and stabbed him, the official mentioned.

He maintained that Asif suffered critical injuries and died on the spot. After carrying out the murder, the suspects fled the scene.

Later, the police reached the spot and shifted the body to Tehsil Headquarter Hospital for completing legal formalities. The police have registered a case against the accused and conducted raids to arrest them.
