Fata’s forgotten IDPs

June 06, 2010

DUBAI: This is with reference to your report ‘Residents flee FR Peshawar in fear’ (June 4). I belong to the FR Peshawar area and my family has hosted around 25 poor people from the village of Bora. They cannot afford to rent a house in Peshawar and certainly cannot travel to Karachi. Bora is now a ghost village and most of the population has fled. There are many thousands of IDPs from other parts of Fata but all that we hear of in the media are the IDPs of Swat — most of whom have now returned to their homes.

How about some compassion and coverage for Fata’s forgotten IDPs?
