LAHORE:

The city burst with enthusiasm and celebrated Father’s Day with great fervour. Children were seen buying their dads gifts and flowers while others got teary eyed remembering their deceased parents on this special day.

Several restaurants around the city plugged in the event to their themes and menus. Cakes were cut and gifts were handed out to eager dads.

Father’s Day is celebrated to mark the significance of paternal bonds and the influence these men wield in our lives. Muhammad Arslan, 15, said that he loves his father and he was a ‘source of inspiration’ for him.

Muhammad Tariq, 13, who lost his father last year said he was a little envious to see others celebrate the day with their fathers. “I would have given him flowers if he was around,” the young man said. “My father always tells me to focus on my studies if I want to lead a respectable life,” said Muhammad Furqan, 12. He added that despite limited resources his father could be depended on to take care of the family.
