FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) and other government departments have agreed, in principle, to declare three out of nine industrial clusters as regular industrial areas, disclosed Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) President Syed Zia Alumdar Hussain. He participated in a meeting held at the FDA on the special directive of Punjab Minister for Industries, Commerce and Investment Mian Aslam Iqbal. Hussain revealed that the FDA had completed the survey of industrial clusters set up in different parts of the city. Discussions in the meeting centered round the issues pertaining to regularisation of the clusters. Hussain pointed out that a majority of industrial units were located outside of the thickly populated city areas, which were inhabited by the people later. “However, due to blunders by the people, the industry was forced to shift once again solely due to environmental issues,” he lamented and added that industrialists had to bear a heavy cost of relocation unnecessarily.
