Three schoolchildren injured in road accident in Lahore

Police say accident occurred because of speeding

LAHORE: Three schoolchildren suffered injuries when a rickshaw they were travelling in collided with a van on Jail Road on Monday.

The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital. Police said that the accident occurred because of speeding. The rickshaw was badly damaged in the accident.

The injured children were identified as Daniyal, Asia, and Atif. Police said that their condition is stated to be stable. They took a rickshaw and the van into their custody and started an investigation.

In a separate incident, a 25-year-old man died when his motorcycle collided with a speeding truck in North Cantonment. Police took the body into their custody and handed over it to his relatives after completing legal formalities.



According to the police, the deceased was identified as Ali and he was the resident of Baghbanpura. The accident took place when he was on his way home from work, they added.

A woman committed suicide by consuming poisonous pills over unknown reason in Liaquatabad. Police said that she tied the knot with a man named Rehmat a few years ago and the couple had three daughters.

Her husband informed the police that she was rushed to a nearby hospital when her condition deteriorated. She died on the way to the hospital. Her husband added that he didn't know why she took this extreme step.
