An emergency meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Contact Group on Kashmir will be held in Jeddah on Tuesday, according to Radio Pakistan.

The meeting is being held on the request of Pakistan following a worsening human rights situation in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) in the wake of Pulwama attack.

Meanwhile, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan expressed concern over inviting of Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj by the OIC to attend the Foreign Minister's conference in Abu Dhabi on Friday.

“The OIC represents Islamic countries to discuss their own issues but now it is opening its doors for non-Muslim countries which are mingling in their affairs,” he said in a statement.

The move comes days after a suicide car bombing killed at least 40 Indian security personnel on February 14 for which New Delhi has blamed Islamabad, an accusation Pakistan had denied.

A banned group Jaish-e-Muhammad group had reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack.

Soon after the attack, Prime Minister Imran Khan had urged India to share any actionable evidence, offering full cooperation in investigating the blast.

Amid heightened tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbours, army spokesman Major General Asif Ghafoor later said Pakistan would respond to any misadventure by India with “full force”.
