A man committed suicide after killing a girl over a marriage dispute in Sahiwal on Monday.
Noor Shah police station official told Express News that Mujahid, a resident of 48-GD Village, had fallen in love with 20-year-old Erum. He added the couple wanted to marry each other, therefore Mujahid decided to send a marriage proposal to Erum’s parents.
He highlighted when the accused went to meet her parents and showed his desire to marry her, they rejected his proposal.
The police official revealed that after the refusal of marriage proposal, Mujahid got dejected and he decided to murder the girl.
On the day of the incident, he revealed that the assailant barged into the victim’s house and shot her dead. After carrying out the murder, the suspect also shot himself and ended his life.
The bodies were shifted to District Headquarter Hospital for completing legal formalities.
Earlier, a man gunned down a woman over a marriage dispute in Hafizabad’s Kasoki area.
Reportedly, Ali Saqlain, a resident of Moza Shameer, had fallen in love with Humaira and had expressed the desire to marry her. However, the girl’s parents turned down his proposal and she was later married to another man.
On the day of the incident, Humaira came to meet her parents when accused Ali allegedly opened fire on her and fled the scene.
