Tragedy: Burn victim dies at hospital

The burning boy ran for help and some villagers came to his rescue and put out the fire

ABBOTTABAD: A teenage boy succumbed to burn injuries at Ayub Medical Complex Abbottabad here on Friday. He was immolated by three persons on Thursday for unknown reasons in Jastar Namli Maira village, some 25 km from here. Yasir, 17, while recording his last statement from the burn ward of Ayub Medical Complex, told the Bagnotar police that he was going to Nathiagali to buy kitchen items when Aslam and two unidentified accomplices started chasing him for unknown reasons. They overpowered him at a deserted place and threw him on the ground. Aslam was carrying kerosene, which he poured over Yasir before set him on fire. The burning boy ran for help and some villagers came to his rescue and put out the fire, before shifting him to Ayub Medical Complex with 90 per cent burns. After he died on Friday afternoon, the police registered a case against Aslam and the two unknown accused.
