Bhakkar university professor ‘blackmails, sexually harasses' female student

Victim claims Sajid Iqbal used to call students to his room where he would sexually harass and blackmail them

The head of department in Bhakkar's University of Sargodha has been accused of sexual harassment by a female student, Express News reported on Thursday.

A first information report (FIR) has been registered against the varsity's Mathematics department's head Sajid Iqbal.

The alleged victim, identified as S*, lodged the complaint through her father.

According to the FIR, Iqbal used to call students to his university room where he sexually harassed and blackmailed them.

The victim has also made a Facebook page where she released a video statement against the accused professor.

"Our family has been receiving threats by Sajid Iqbal, owing to this we have stopped sending our daughter to the university," Muhammad Yaqoob, the father of the victim, said.

On February 7, a principal of a private school sexually assaulted a girl in Kasur.

Reportedly, the victim’s mother R*, a resident of a village near Jambar area, submitted a complaint at the police station stating that her nine-year-old daughter K* was enrolled at a private school in the locality.

She stated that on the day of the incident, the principal of the school, identified as Fakhar Imam, took her into a classroom after school and locked it from the inside. Afterwards, the accused sexually assaulted K*, the victim’s mother lamented.
