LEAs recover arms, ammunition from a water tanker

PESHAWAR:

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Police on Thursday recovered a heavy cache of weapons by intercepting a smuggling bid in Peshawar.

The intelligence-based operation (IBO) was carried out by officers from the Matni Police Station and security agencies. The law enforcement agencies (LEAs) intercepted a water tanker travelling from Dera Adam Khel to Punjab. A large cache of weapons was hidden in the tanker.

According to police, at least 147 guns, 30 Kalashnikovs and 29,000 bullets were recovered.

The suspect has been arrested.
