PM calls cabinet meeting

Ministers to discuss several issues including appointment of ADB president and EOBI, Gwadar Port chairman

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has called the federal cabinet meeting on Thursday to discuss the 20-point agenda including the appointment of Employees Old-Age Benefits Institutions (EOBI) and Gwadar Port Authority chairman.

As per the agenda received by Daily Express, the confirmation of decisions taken during the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) meeting on February 4 and cabinet energy meeting on February 6 are included in the agenda.

The federal cabinet will approve the appointment of Agricultural Development Bank president while the suggestions of the committee for payment of water used by Azad Kashmir will be presented before the cabinet.

The cabinet will also take into consideration the anti-drugs policy 2018 along with discussing the implementation report of cabinet decisions.

The relaxation in Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules 2004 in infrastructure and economic inclusion projects will also be deliberated in the meeting while cabinet will give a principled approval of PIMS ordinance 2019 document.

The matter of transfer of maritime fisheries department from navy to national food security and amendments in National Disaster Management Act 2010 are also part of agenda.

Apart from this, National Economic Council’s report for the fiscal year 2017-18 will be presented.

PM to chair cabinet meeting on Feb 7

The signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and financial intelligence agency will also be approved.

The resignation of Karachi Port Trust trustee Sultan Ali Allana and appointment of new trustee from will also be discussed.

The matter of changing overseas employment promoter license will be deliberated.
