Tour operators’ body elects office-bearers

Maqsoodul Mulk elected president while Sadaruddin Hunzai chosen as general secretary

ISLAMABAD: The elections of Pakistan Association of Tour Operators (PATO) were held at a local hotel yesterday.

Maqsoodul Mulk was elected as the president while Sadaruddin Hunzai was chosen as general secretary while Muhammad Umer Rub was voted in as Joint Secretary.

The other officials including Khawaja Jehanzaib, Mohsin Paracha, Asad Shah, Muhammad Tayyab, Malik Imtiaz Hussain, Asghar Ali were elected as vice presidents.

Further, the members of the executive committee include Ali Usman, Lyor Khan, Atta Ul Haq Qaiser, Sajaa Muhammad Ali, Najeeb Ahmed Khan, Arif Tufail, Muhammad Akbar, and Aleem Chaudhry while Raja Maqboon, Rana Aftab, Qarar Haideri and Mehmood were elected as election commissioners.

The newly elected General Secretary Sadaruddin Hunzai said that the improved law and order situation could escalate the tourism industry in the country while he expressed that Pakistan had great potential for tourism.

He added that Pakistan was home to many historic and ancient sites and urged the government to take more steps for the revival of tourism in the country.
