KASUR:

A man allegedly strangled his sister to death over ‘honour’ in Kasur, Express News reported.  Police claimed to have arrested the suspect.

An official from Ganda Singh Wala police station said that Ehsanullah, a resident of Mianwala Village, had certain suspicions about his sister Tayyaba.

He added that the accused suspected that his sister was in a relationship with a man in the same area. He maintained that on the day of the incident, the victim was talking to the individual on her cellphone when Ehsanullah caught her in the act.

The official stated that the accused had a heated argument with his sister over the matter and when the argument escalated, he strangled her to death and fled the scene.

Initial investigations suggest that earlier, Tayyaba ran away from home in a bid to marry the man of her choice. However, the victim’s parents found her and brought her back.

Meanwhile, Ganda Singh Wala police have registered a case and arrested the suspect after conducting a raid at a hide out. Further investigations are under way.

Earlier, a woman and her friend were shot dead in Jhang’s Saddar area.

According to details, 24-year-old *F had friendship with 30-year-old I*.  The couple used to meet, however their families did not know about their relationship.

On the day of the incident, the woman went to her friend’s house to meet him. In the meantime, the woman’s father and other family members came to know about the matter. In a fit of rage, the woman’s father Iqbal, uncle Yaseen and two cousins rushed to the spot and opened fire on them. As a result, both victims died on the spot.

Investigations suggested that the woman’s family members had found the couple in an objectionable condition and had therefore killed them.
