Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi termed the global silence on Indian atrocities being committed in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK) 'quite disturbing,' Express News reported on Thursday.

Addressing a gathering of overseas Pakistanis in Birmingham, FM Qureshi said that India is committing horrendous human rights violations in IoK, and expressed dismay over the silence of global powers.

"United Nations reports have identified the atrocities taking place in Kashmir," said Qureshi, adding that the world must speak out against them.

"Pakistan's relations with India are directly affected by the Kashmir issue and if India takes one step, we will take two," the foreign minister reiterated.

FM Qureshi also added that the United States and Taliban are now holding talks as a result of the efforts of Prime Minister Imran Khan and added "our foreign policy is made in Pakistan."

Qureshi also urged the gathering to invest in Pakistan, and reassured them that their investment will be secure. "A new investment framework is being introduced in the country, and the new policies will provide relief to those who invest."

The foreign minister said that due to the prudent economic policies of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, international companies are now interested in bringing investment to Pakistan.
