"We have added new dimension in our foreign policy,” he said. The governor continued that short and long-term steps were being taken to meet the challenges faced by the country.

The war against brutality till the independence of occupied Kashmir will continue.” She further said Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan raised this agenda in front of the whole world right after taking oath

Separately, Overseas Pakistanis Commission Vice Chairperson Waseem Akhtar said February 5 is observed every year to support Kashmiris. He said the day served as a show of solidarity with Pakistan’s Kashmiri brothers and sisters. “Kashmiris are being martyred by Indian securities forces, but they have not backed off an inch from their principle stance of independence from India. Pakistan pays tribute to the Kashmiri people for their sacrifices.”

He said that on Kashmir Solidarity Day, the whole country of Pakistan and its people living in foreign countries paid pay tribute to the Kashmiri people for their struggle. “Independence is the fundamental right of any person or nation. This right of independence cannot be snatched by a cruel nation. The struggle of Kashmir people may seem to be long, but the day is not far when they will be able to breathe in their independent homeland,” he said.

Akhtar was speaking to a delegation of expatriates in the UK. “I urge my overseas Pakistanis to highlight the struggle of Kashmiris in their respective countries. Pakistan will continue to stand by its Kashmiri brothers through their fight for freedom. The shared ideological bond between Kashmir and Pakistan has been the premise for the support and efforts made by many Pakistani leaders over the years.”

He added Prime Minister Imran Khan had taken on that mantle, and upped the ante by unequivocally reiterating his and PTI’s support and solidarity with the people of Kashmir. “On this day, we remember the struggle of the hundreds and thousands of Kashmiris who have sacrificed everything for their freedom, and renew our commitment to the people of Kashmir. The dissenting voices will not be silenced anymore. As a patriot, I appeal to the global community and leadership for the resolution of Kashmir Issue in the light of UN Charters and save humanity.”
